Do Something.

I want to actually do something, how about you? I believe that the most effective use of our time as we minister is to present both a spiritual and a social Gospel to the hearers. That means, ministering to them spiritually as well as physically, engaging in social justice issues as well as just teaching. To that end, we have been led to do some things differently from here on out, adding practical ministry tools that can revolutionize the lives that this ministry affects.

Number 1: Mosquito nets handed out at crusades.
After a recent trip to Africa, I became convinced that both approaches are needed in order to win the hearts and minds of those that we seek to impact.

In our healing lines, we have seen that the majority of those who need a miracle are mothers, carrying tiny children struck down with Malaria. While I believe in prayer as a solution for those who have no recourse, isn’t it better to not need a miracle in the first place, especially when prevention is so easy and cheap?

As we travel in Africa this year, as well as India, we really want to take a gift with us for the poor people held hostage by a small insect; mosquito nets. It is our goal to purchase and hand out 5,000 nets to the people of Kenya and India as they come to hear the Gospel message.

We can buy the nets for as little as $10.00 U.S. each. To us, that is nothing. Shoot, Starbucks coffee costs nearly that much. When you donate the funds through American Pentecost to buy nets for the poor, we will include your name with the nets that you purchase, along with a short message of your choosing to the recipient.

Buy some nets, save a life and let the families of Africa and Asia know that Jesus cares about their felt needs as well as their spirit. Donate on the donate tab.

Number 2: Cheap laptops for remote Pastors.
Strange as it may seem, even remote areas of the bush have access to power and cell phones. We have seen cell phone stores in villages hours away from population centers. As the need increases for Pastors to continue their education and disipleship, out-of-the-box methods must be used to keep these Pastors taught, fed and equipped. By the end of 2010, we will have close to 300 Kenyan Pastors under the banner of American Pentecost. All yearning for truth and answers. These 300 Pastors in turn lead thousands and thousands of believers every week.

The need to be available to them personally as well as get teachings to them weekly is one that is closest to our hearts.

We are looking for donated laptops capable of accepting a USB tether to a cell phone, if you have one. If you do not and wish to help equip a Pastor every single week, donate the money for us to buy a refurbished laptop. These can be bought for $85.00-$200.00.

Can you imagine? For that little, you can PERSONALLY impact the lives hundreds and potentially thousands of believers all over the world.

If you have a laptop to donate, you can mail it to American Pentecost, 17518 State Road 23, Darlington, WI 53530. Gift receipts will be given to those who donate.
If you wish to donate the finances to buy an African Pastor a laptop, do so on our donate tab.

Number 3: AIDS awareness and prevention.
At every healing rally that we minister at, the number of cases of those who are seeking miracles for HIV/AIDS is overwhelming. You know that God heals, I know that God heals. But we must deal with this issue at its root, not just clip the rotten fruit after its grown. So beginning this year, we will be teaching classes during the day and distributing information on HIV/AIDS and educating people on what it is, how it is spread and what they can do to minimize exposure.

Along with this information, we are planning a major blitz at our crusades focused on two biblical concepts: self-respect and the covenant of marriage.

I know, sounds corny, right? If you have never heard our teaching on marriage and covenant, it sure is. However, I have never seen a single person willing to continue engaging in random sexual encounters after seeing the truth of these messages.

Our goal is to get it into pamphlet form and translated into the local dialects and handed out at every single crusade this year and from here on out. We need holiness taught again in the church and we need people to see that God has put serious protections in place for women. Headship is real and its about time we taught it properly.

Want to help us? We can reach 1 person with HIV/AIDS awareness materials and a special teaching and mini-book on the blood covenant for as little as $1.00 a piece.

Make a difference, people.

Please denote on your donation what it is to be used for.

All gifts are tax deductible as provided by U.S. law.
